Go to the Next Line When Adding Text in FrontPage 2000

  • Hold down Shift while you press Enter (if you just hit Enter, you’ll get another paragraph)

One use for this is adding captions directly under pictures.

Handy Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Copy - Hold down Control and press C

  • Paste - Hold down Control and press V

  • Cut - Hold down Control and press X

Preview a Graphics File

  • Open Windows Explorer (Hold down the “Flying Window” key and press E)

  • Maximize the Windows Explorer window

  • Go to the clipart file folder you want to preview so that the individual graphic files appear on the right pane of the window

  • On the Menu Bar at the top, select View, then As Web Page

  • Click once on the graphic file you want to preview, and it’ll appear in the same right side pane.

Highlight Text

  • Put the cursor at the left of the first letter of the first word or character to be included.

  • Hold down Shift

  • Put the cursor at the end of the section you want highlighted

  • Press Enter

This is useful for text you want to copy and paste into a web page.  It’s easier than manipulating a mouse to highlight specific or long text.

Speaking of Text

  • Sans serif font styles are the easiest to read off of a monitor for most people. Popular ones are Arial, Helvetica and Verdana.

When in Doubt

  • Right Click

For example, if you want a picture aligned differently in a cell, right click in that cell and select cell properties.
