Learn how to set up a practice website using FrontPage 2000 navigation, shared borders and themes.

FrontPage themes can give any website a professional appearance. When used in combination with FrontPage navigation and shared borders, maintaining navigation links when adding new pages is a snap!

You'll get the best results if you read through the entire tutorial before creating your practice site. Follow all steps in order to avoid having to troubleshoot! Lastly, if you have any comments or suggestions for this tutorial, please contact me!

Set Up Site Structure

To create a new website on your computer's C:\ drive, follow these instructions:

Start FrontPage 2000, go to File, select  New, and then Web.  Type in C:\My Documents\My Webs\new in the box for specifying the location of the new web.  Click OK.

By default, FrontPage will open a new page called new_page_1.htm. If this does not happen, click on the new page icon.

Type Page 1 on the page, then click on File, Save As and at File name: leave it as page_1.htm, click on Save.

Click on the new page icon, type Page 2 on the page, then click on File, Save As and at File name: make it page_2.htm, click on Save.

Click on the new page icon, type Page 3 on that page, then click on File, Save As and at File name: make it page_3.htm, click on Save.
